what matters most
Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 8:45PM The family is one of nature's masterpieces. -George Santayana
I hope you enjoyed your weekend like we did. As a reprieve from being overly busy lately, focusing on the family felt really good. I know more than anything this summer I need to keep that focus on all the things that matter to me.
If you're feeling the same way, perhaps the Mondo Beyondo Dream Lab is something to consider. Nothing sounds better to me right now than "rest, play and the power of kindness". I'll be sharing some of my own thoughts and ideas in the Dream Lab on the kindness part of things (some self-kindness, that is) so I hope you join us! The Dream Lab starts right now (Monday) so there's no time to lose!
But, before to go, share your best shot from the weekend. My guess is that you focused on some pretty special stuff too.

I wish I could take some time to relax! We just moved into a new house on Friday so I have a feeling I am going to busy for a long, long time!
I took some shots of lilies last week, too! All of our flowers came out to say goodbye!
Gorgeous shot! This is my first time participating in Best Shot Monday, but I hope it will become a weekly event for me. Here's my direct link; please let me know if I need to submit it some other way. http://happyshackdesigns.blogspot.com/2010/06/first-shot-at-best-shot-monday.html
we welcomed summer in traditional fashion...trip down the shore, collected seashells, breakfast in bed, then more swimming when we got home :)

Focusing on some pretty special stuff, here's my best shot from Father's Day weekend:: http://www.flickr.com/photos/40070449@N08/4719707708/
There will be no relaxing for awhile. with demo's, reno's packing and moving - then rushing off to a family reunion weekend... what's a girl to do?! that softness right before the day breaks has been my solace. breath. in - out. repeat.
Here's my contribution! :)

i spent saturday cooped up inside working, while the sun teased me shamelessly through the window. come sunday, my camera and i were itching to get out. fortunately for me, the sun shone even more gloriously when i emerged :)
this is my favourite capture of the weekend
We visited almost all our families this weekend. My BSM is of my youngest. I just wish the weekends were longer!
Lovely image!
Last week was wonder-filled as I visited my niece in NYC!
I'm still recovering...
I was looking for beauty in the garden as well....
With today as the first day of summer, I am recommitting myself to SLOWING DOWN and enjoying myself and the discoveries and adventures of summer.
Here are my thoughts and images (I am aware of a need for an entire day to catch up on uploading photographs!!):

I found something quite unexpected during a visit to a local garden.
we finally found a place away from people... ahhhhh. http://daffado.blogspot.com/2010/06/my-best-shot-monday.html
my best shot...was taken observing kids laughter, giggles and a whole bunch of sweaty little bodies playing what they though was football..
