unearthing

Had fun harvesting some early summer veggies with the Grandparents. Who knew fresh garlic looked like this and then this? And the taste...paired with our basil?? Super-yum!

This is my SOOC shot for the weekend. Share yours too if you'd like.

Hey! Where did you find that sunshine?!? lol. LOVE home grown basil and garlic. Just used it 2 days ago, too, in my tomato/basil/garlic and olive oil over penne pasta. Yummers! Here's an interesting tidbit for you: apparently you're supposed to pinch off the flowers off of your basil plant because it will stunt the growth of the basil because all growing goes to the flowers and stalks. So, I left one with flowers, and took them off the other. It's true, but I loved photographing those little flowers last year. They're so pretty!

So very neat! It looks like you have one heck of a garden! I've never even thought about growing garlic...I love garlic so I think a may give it a whirl! I was also glad to read Chris' comment about basil, a new herb I've added to my garden this year so I will have to make sure to pinch the flowers off. :) Thanks for the tip!

I love the focal point and DOF in this shot. Garlic & basil, now all you need is Olive oil and Pine nuts and you've got some great pesto.

My 6-year old and I once planted carrots. After a month, they grew to about a quarter an inch.

"We have sore thumb, don't we?" my 6-year old said.

Hmp.

Dropped by to apologize for not having my SOOC posted last weekend May 30. We were at Special Olympics and I forgot to set it to publish.

Thanks for posting. I suddenly have the urge to garden...and eat food seasoned with garlic. Lovely.
